Charlottetown GM optimistic about possibility of a senior baseball season
CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. —
Senior baseball might return to Prince Edward Island this summer.
The Charlottetown Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders are preparing for the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League (NBSBL) season if it takes place. The league did not operate in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Team officials met virtually on Saturday for a league meeting and decided to reconvene at the end of the month to make a decision on the season.
“They’re optimistic, but at the same time realistic,” Isles’ general manager Myles Grady said, noting how quickly things can change. “We really hope we can get this league going.”
He said some of the Islanders have already started working out inside.
“They want to be ready to go – once we get the green light,” Grady said. “There’s some excitement there for sure."
